The commentary is really well done and also very funny making this feel like a very professionally made game and as silly as the premise is it’s a lot of fun and very enjoyable.
The story behind it is that a basketball game and a karate demo have been booked at the same time in the gym so rather than cancel one of them the basketballers decide to incorporate the karate in to their match to please all the audience and whilst karate moves are available weapons such as baseball bats and golf clubs are randomly thrown on to the court which can be used to attack or be thrown at your opponents. Shut up and Slam Jam Karate Basketball is a very cool pixel art style basketball game where there is no holds barred and karate chopping or kicking your opponent is fully encouraged the surprising thing here is that it actually works quite well as a standalone basketball game the game play is easy to get used to even if using a keyboard rather than a controller but both ways are catered for and whichever way you choose to control your basketballer it’s engrossing stuff, you can also play two player co-op mode or even 2 vs 2 if you have enough real life players available!
